Guess who’s going back to Highschool? ME!

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 by admin

Since overcoming cancer two years ago I’ve really revamped my attitude towards life.. Not only do I love being at home with the kids I love my stress free schedule. I know truly understand what it means to not trade your time for money…life is to be enjoyed, cherished and lived!  Hannah had a work week at the beginning of her school year and is determined to be a firefighter when she grows up.. she posed the question to me, “Mommy when you grow up what do you want to be?” I initially laughed at the question and tried explaining that I was already grown up and worked in administration. She looked at me with those innocent doe eyes and asked the question again. I just laughed even harder and explained that I initially wanted to be a teacher when I was her age then at the age of 7 wanted to be a fighter pilot.. well, I wanted to be a pilot until I became pregnant with Nicholas and when I looked into my son’s eyes when I was only 18 I knew then that being a mom was a much better job and wanted to offer him a stable enviroment to grow up in with a Mom who would be to see him every single day. I never looked back and provided us with a good income starting my career right out of highschool. After 13 years in the forceforce trading my time for money and overcoming cancer and now knowing the secret to life = Law of Attraction, I have a VERY different outlook.

Well, here I am at the age of 32 and finally chasing those dreams. My internet business will continue to bring in the money and I am going back to school to become a personal trainer so I can follow my passion. I want to have a positive impact on the healthy lifestyles of everyone! Through everything I’ve struggled with and on my way to overcoming I want to show people that there is hope, there is light at the end of the tunnel and want to watch that seed grow into a healthy lifestyle for each of my future clients. College begins in the fall and I registered yesterday at Algonquin…. I will need to complete my grade 11 biology which I didn’t take when I was in highschool so I decided the fastest way to get it was to attend summer school this summer as I need to have the course completed by August 1st. Am I insane? YES! Am I nervous to be going back to school after being out 13 years?! HELL YES!!! Am I excited about my future that lies ahead?! YES YES YES!!! SO all I need to do to get that amazing future career I want sooo badly is to endure 3 weeks of summer school with a bunch of 16 year olds! How funny is that?!

It was so funny this morning. I picked up my highschool transcripts at my old highschool which brought me back in time… Then I went to register and as I sat down with one of the teachers I heard my name being called. It ended up being a friend that I went to school with and graduated the same year! Ryan is now a teacher and will be in charge of the summer school program at our old highschool where I will be starting on MOnday… he joked that I better not be a trouble maker because if I get in trouble they’ll be sending me to see him! OMG, too funny! Well, on the positive note I’ll know someone from highschool that I can have lunch with!!!

Well, the decision has been made (toughest part) and everything else is falling into place… now I just need to move up the waitlist for my program which begins this Fall2009! Fitness and Lifestyle Management here I come! I am sure I’ll have some enlightening funny stories to tell in the next 3 weeks!

Happy CANADA DAY (Tomorrow)- we are heading out camping (yes, in the rain!) and very excited!!! Hope, whever you are spending it you take a moment to be thankful for this amazing country that we live in!

MY little girls dream manifested

Monday, June 29th, 2009 by admin

I have the most amazing update for you!!! On June 5th I wrote to you telling you about how my daughter Hannah who is 5 years old decided to put into motion an affirmation to get a new bike. To view the original post please go to http://www.tashamaggie.com/?p=319

To summarize Hannah and I were talking about how she could have anything she wanted and to prove this to her I asked her to think of something she really wanted and believe with all her might that it was on it’s way to her. She set her her mind on a bike. We then sat down and described the bike exactly as she wanted it and she drew a picture of the bike. We hung the piece of paper on the fridge with her affirmation that said, ” I am so happy and grateful now that I am getting my new bike. It is pink with kitty cats on it. It has 2 wheels and pretty streamers on my handle bars. I love my new bike!”

I went on to explain to Hannah that if she did get her bike then she would know that I speak the truth and anything she ever wanted, if she could imagine it in all the glorious details then she could have it! Each night Hannah would repeat how happy and grateful she was and drew picture of her bike everwhere. Hannah also asked me when her bike was going to arrive and I explained it depended on how badly she wanted it. I also explained that it was like the garden we planted.. each day we needed to water and tend to our garden and the flowers would grow but without sunlight, water or care the flowers couldn’t grow. So my 5 year old set out to make her bike come… that was June 5th!

Yesterday afternoon when her Dad dropped her off Hannah came running into my arms to tell me about the brand new bike that he Opa bought her! She was soooo excited to tell me all about it! I was in a state of instant shock and listened intently as she told me all about it. To see the sheer happiness was overwhelming.. I then asked Hannah to go to the fridge and get her bike note off the fridge… she brought it out and she showed her Dad who knew nothing of it. I then explained the story and she was also amazed; he mentioned he had no idea about our bike affirmation here at my place and he was pretty amazed at what the affirmation stated. Well, Hannah’s new bike has pink on it with pretty streamers, it has 2 wheels and a kick stand!

I’ve decided to frame the bike affirmation and keep it above her bed not only as a reminder for Hannah that all can come true but for Nicholas and me as well…. if a 5 year old can believe and know it’s coming then all of us that is reading this should as well!

It took the sheer joy from  my 5 year old to really bring this home to me and let me tell you it’s infectious.. Nicholas (my 14 year old) is now excited to make his dreams board, Hannah is making new affirmations of things she wants and I have to say that I have a new and renewed sense of determination of what it is that is on my treasure map hung in my room!

I hope Hannah has inspired you to follow your dreams and get on the manifestation train! I know she has for me!

God Bless!

Is “fate” the same as living a “choice life”?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009 by admin

I just finished watched the movie Serendipity filmed in 2001 starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. I remember when this movie first came out and falling instantaneously in love with the movie and the word SERENDIPITY. The word itself means the act of finding something valuable or delightful when you are not looking for it; otherwise FATE.

As I rewatched this movie this evening I was armed with all that I know in the way of living a choice life- The Law of Attraction.  Even though this is just a movie it has so much truth in the message…. these signs that they follow, using words like fate and destiny… well, I would have to say that because they were thinking of their soulmate, searching for them and emitting a postive emotion it allowed their consious mind to move into the subconsious.. basically their thoughts with the strong desire/feelings attached attracted them like a magnetic force towards each other. Feelings become things and this case their feelings towards each other at the same time drew them closer to each other. Basically what I just described would be the definition of the Law of Attraction.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject… is fate a pre-planned path and we just follow along or would you think that fate is living a choice life? I define choice life to be that we are creative beings- we create our outcomes… our thoughts manifest into “things”. I like to think that we are creators in our own lives with the thoughts we choose.

Heck, I might have lost many here…. this is just another one of my random ramblings but I really would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Either way… it’s a lovely movie and I still look at it with HOPE! Hope that my soulmate still exists.. I’ve made him up in my mind as as much as I am trying to find him I truly believe that he is searching for me as well with as much determination. Call it serindipity, fate, destiny… I just BELIEVE!

Goodnight and God Bless!

Kudos to large families!

Michele was in a bit of a jam yesterday as she ran out of time and needed to get to her spa day… so I watched all the kids during the afternoon and when she came to get them I offered to watch them overnight so that she and Kirk could have an evening to themselves.

Having 5 kids in the house keeps you on your toes!!! Of course I am not used to it so I think it makes it a bit tougher but knowing it’s for a short period of time also helps.. LOL

It was a ton of fun and when it came to bedtime I was impressed at how easy (sort of) it was… Fitting 5 kids into 1 bedroom was inventive though… I put Hannah (5), Kaylee (3) and Gaby (10) on a queen size matress side ways and they had plenty of room.. then I put Andrea (14) in Hannah’s bed  and Nicholas (14) slept in his own loft bed…. Did I mention that my home is only 908 square feet?! LMAO!

The little ones were in bed by 9PM and I stayed up to watch a movie with the 14 year olds- BTW, Bride Wars is an ok movie. This morning the younger ones woke up around 08h30 so I went to work on making them homemade pancakes… with a Tasha style to them. Banana pancakes… you layer them with peanut butter and bananas and stack it on the other drenching it with Maple Syrup… they ate them!!!! Wooohoo!

Oh… as a chew toy this morning my lab/collie mix Mr. Rocky decided to use my blackberry as a chew toy!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! SO instead of having an absolute freak out I made a pot of coffee… LOL

To burn off some energy I brought them all to the dog park and we had some fun there and played skipping rope and plasma cars along with some hide and seek when Kirk and Michele came to pick them up at 11h30…

Like I said… happy to have them here and KUDOS to the parents out there that do this full time! Nicholas is getting ready for an end of the year party at his friend Justin’s house… he’ll be there from 3PM to 9PM so I think I am going to have a LONG bubble bath in my jacuzi with some nice music and a good book… I lent out my Science of Getting Rich but I just got an amazing new book which I am excited to get into..

Have an amazing blessed day!

Happy Birthday MICHELE!

Friday, June 26th, 2009 by admin

Michele is my daughter Hannah’s step-mom… she is a kind and caring person who I have come to respect and enjoy a friendship with. She is an amazing person and has been a real treasure as a step mom. I am so grateful that I have had a chance to get to know her on a frienship level- let me tell ya… she’s a fighter! She’ll fight for the ones she loves and does it with such determination, dignity and love that it can humble anyone around her.

Anyhoo, enough of the sappy stuff… she knows how to party like no one else, work her butt off at the gym like no one else, has a smile that will light up a room and a heart large enough to heal the world!

Have an incredible birthday day darling… and plan for big things to happen this year… when you blow out the candle making all your wishes have the knowledge to know that they will come true… if you can see it in your mind it will materialize in your life… Promise!

Love ya lots and enjoy your day of pampering at the spa.

Happy Birthday!

The BEACH is calling our names!

Thursday, June 25th, 2009 by admin

Nicholas got out of school yesterday and my daughter Hannah finishes today.. so as a fun thing to do we’ll be heading to the beach this afternoon to ward off of the heat, enjoy the sun and fun times always had when at the beach!

I received this quote today and it made me think so I wanted to share with you… it really made me think of not only living in a state of gratitude but that is we wait until the end the manifestation, the result has already happened… be thankful/grateful in the stages before it appears for that is when it is most needed!

“Happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it is too late. Today, this hour, this minute is the day, the hour, the minute for each of us to sense the fact that life is good, with all of its trials and troubles, and perhaps more interesting because of them.”

Robert R. Updegraff
Author of “Be Thankful For Your Troubles”

I woke up last night worrying about money… at first I didn’t realize that I was tossing due to this reason but it was really bothering me. Then I sat up and decided to write the worry down allowing it to pass from my mind and replaced it with images of what I am waiting for; knowing it is coming my way… I was still having some trouble sleeping so I sat up and decided to go a quick session of EFT/tapping and sure enough it allowed me to drift off into a peaceful slumber.

Have an incredible blessed day and enjoy the sun for summer has arrived!

P.E.I.”Smiles” to pass along

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009 by admin

In 2003 I embarked on our first official family vacation with my son Nicholas who was 8 at the time and my Dad. We met up in PEI with a highschool acquaintance of mine where our frienship blossomed into a real friendship… Prince Edward Island (PEI) is such a magical place to visit.. the culture, the people, the food, the breathtaking views, the history and landscape. It offered me such peace and happiness that PEI stole my heart and righfully so.

When my daughter was born in May 2004 on her 2 month birthday we travelled back to PEI, this time with my son Nicholas my dear friend Jennifer and now my newest darling Miss Hannah Mae.

When I need to think of something that will make my heart soar I think back to PEI and Seacowhead Lighthouse in Lower Bedeque. I’d love to share some of my favourite pics from my trip.

Academic Award!!!!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009 by admin

Just a quick shout out to my son Nicholas who won his first academic award today for grade 8 DRAMA! I am soooo very excited and proud of him!

I received a call from the school last Tuesday to let me know that Nicholas would be receiving an academic award today at 1PM. They told me it was a secret for him and wouldn’t share info on what the award was for. I called everyone I knew and immediately set to action to see if they could come and share this day… it was a complete SECRET for Nicholas!

Today my sister, my mom and my daughter Hannah sneaked into the school and was there to witness the pure joy on my son’s face when his name was called! He is best in his class receving perfect scores on everything for the entire semester! He is a star and he happens to be my son! This award is so very important especially with it being in a field that he excels with and want to persue as a career choice!

My Dad was sooo proud all the way from Alberta and tried to get a flight in but just couldn’t… so he sent him money for a new bike which was here waiting for him when he got him.

Way to gooooooo Nicholas! I love you!!!!!

Love ya!

Amazing week ahead!

Sunday, June 21st, 2009 by admin

The weekend is coming to a close and what a weekend it was. Friday I was able to help my friend’s Chris and Jenn move into there new beautiful home here in Stittsville. I am a pro at moving. I am 32 and last July was my 24th (approx- could be more) move.. I moved quite a bit as a child and have also moved quite a bit as an adult- thanks goodness things have settled down but I do look forward to moving into my dream home that I have been manifesting!

Friday evening I went out with a new friend to celebrate my brother’s birthday.. it was a chill and relaxed evening but a great time to spend with him.

Weekends have a tendancy to fly by and this weekend was no exception! I just got back from family dinner where my sister in law made a very delicious veggie lasagna… YumO!

I wish my Dad could have been here for Father’s Day or vice versa but although a few thousand miles seperates us it doesn’t stop me from remembering all the wonderful times I had as a child with him. He is such an amazing father and role model and I am so very thankful that God chose him to be my Dad! I am pretty lucky!!!

Sunday’s I usually think of what lies ahead in the week ahead.. I visualize each day better than the next and sit in thankfulness of what is coming my way into manifestation. This week I have some pretty awesome goals once again to hit at the gym and look forward to looking into a program being offered at the college here in Ottawa and have made the choice to go back to school. The January semester is shaping up quite nicely and I am soooo excited for this new chapter in my life ahead to begin.

Also I am soooo excited about a new product that I stumbled upon… You are going to hear me rave about this incredible new product in the coming week’s ahead… Not only does it help you save money at the gas pumps but’s it helping the environment! How cool is that?!

I encourage you to set your goals for the upcoming week ahead pretty high and if you would, I’d love to hear about some of them as well….

Have a blessed evening!
